When you hear things that don’t sound pleasing, much less normal for your heating system, it’s probably time for a service. Now, most HVAC systems have noises while running. Not all issues with your furnace will be obvious. Sometimes these problems will arise in the form of rising utility bills. Yellow Means Call!
Yellow means call – and we aren’t kidding. Almost all HVAC systems will have a yellow signal, called a pilot light, installed. The pilot light is there to warn you of issues within your furnace unit. If the yellow light is flashing or lit, it means there is an issue with your system and you should call immediately to have it looked at for a repair.
Drips, Leaks, and Pools
Any sign of liquid means there is an issue with your furnace, whether it’s gas or water. Keep in mind that while both of these indicate that something is wrong with your unit, one of them is significantly more dangerous than the other. If you smell gas, this could very well be a gas leak. Shut off your furnace immediately and then shut off the gas supply value. Do not light any open flames in your home and call us as soon as possible. As for water leakages, it isn’t as dangerous to your health as a gas leak is, but it can still affect your heating and air conditioning.
